We offer free in-person and virtual improvisational theatre workshops and other programs for teens and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our current workshops are listed below.
In-Person Improv Theatre Workshops: Our Spring 8-week series of Improv Theatre Workshops for teens and adults with autism begins April 14, and concludes June 2. This workshop series is almost full. The workshops meet on Sundays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Encinitas, and are co-led by young adults with autism. Virtual Improv Theatre Workshops: We provide online Improv Workshop for teens and young adults with autism on Fridays from 4 to 4:45 p.m. (Pacific Time). “This Enchanted Forest” Musical!
Together with many members of our autism community, our theatre troupe is creating a musical from improvisational theatre, and original and classical music. An Open Invitation ~
We will provide free In-person Improv Theatre Workshops at your organization or group’s location, for your autism community. Our workshops teach social and communication skills, and are great fun! We are also happy to teach your staff or volunteers how to provide our workshops independently. This invitation is open to communities throughout greater San Diego.

Positive Action Community Theatre (PACT) is a dynamic non-profit organization that offers improvisational theatre workshops that help develop social and communication skills in teens and adults with autism and other special needs. Those most served by our programs are teens and young adults with high functioning autism (HFA).
Our workshops include individuals with disabilities, as well as volunteers who act as peer mentors. We encourage a feeling of equality by not pointing out our volunteers or discussing anyone’s differences. The fun, low-stress and upbeat environment of these workshops gives those with unique needs an opportunity to express their creativity, reconnect with peers, and learn social skills through observation and interaction.
Mastering an art is a very enriching experience. It also proves to be a great ally in living with the challenges of autism and other disabilities. Studying and expressing the performing arts brings those who have been isolated into a shared world. As they feel more connected, they are better able to express their thoughts and feelings and share their own unique gifts. We all benefit from their contributions.
